Weekends with Brandon

I must say, out of all the days of the week, I love Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the most.  I somewhat despise the monotony of the weekdays and how exhausted I feel after work.  I practically live for the weekend.  As I have mentioned before, Brandon and I have tried to do better about intentionally going on a date each weekend.  So yesterday, we went out to eat Mongolian Grill, bought groceries, came home, relaxed, then went out later to do our date activity.  We were going to go shopping/get some other errands done.  But on the way, I spotted Ikea, and asked Brandon if we could walk around randomly and enjoy the furniture before we got on with our shopping errands.  So Brandon spontaneously pulled over and we walked around Ikea.  I am so glad he doesn't always have to have a plan and we can sometimes just do random activities that seem appealing.  :-) We decided we want a small couch in our room one of these days so we can arrange the room to not have the TV right in front of our bed.  Until we purchase our new home, though, we are not going to make any such purchases.  We ended the night with only me eating Ikea hot dogs with a generous helping of mustard.  Brandon was still full from eating other stuff.  For some reason, hot dogs never appeal to me unless I am shopping at Costco or Ikea, or something similar.  They really aren't healthy, but I can't help it sometimes, you know?  Anyway, so we went on to buy the items we needed at the nearby mall.  Lo and behold, as soon as we got to the mall and stepped inside H&M, the fire alarm went off.  So everyone had to evacuate the mall and that was the end of our intended errands.  So we just went home and watched a few episodes of this awesome anime called "One Piece."  Ummm.... I know, that show is older than dirt, but I am a total anime newbie, so it is a grand and awesome and amusing show for me still.  Hehe.  Thanks to having an awesome husband who knows all about anime and stuff.  Anyway, Brandon and I are going to watch "UP" tonight, since he has never seen it and I just know he will love it.  I MISS YOU GUYS!  Sorry for being a very slackerish blogger.  Talk to you next time. xoxox

Valentine's Week

In our family, we don't just do Valentine's Day in one measly work-day.  We draw it out and be romantic until the weekend is over.  So, technically, today is the last Valentine's Day.  Anyway, I took some fun photos of our romantic festivities.  Prepare to gag from cheesiness. :-)  Seriously, as if Brandon Tuesday and Ash Wednesday were not sappy enough.....

Brandon left this adorable card on my laptop for me to find right when I got home from work.

When I did get home and found the card, Brandon was fast asleep.  While he slept, I decorated his side of the bathroom mirror with a bunch of hearts, gift bows, and red dry erase marker.  He was very surprised when he woke up.

I also sprinkled his side of the counter with homemade red confetti, lit a candle, set out some sexy haikus (to make him laugh), and remember those tulip petals that were on our bed?  I didn't put them to waste.  I formed a tulip heart right next to the haikus.

I also got him four gift bags filled with loving things... hahaha... he felt very overwhelmed.  But as I was setting out these gifts, he was baking some of the BEST cookies I have ever had.  Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies complete with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.  We had some friends over later that night that were all over those cookies.  I will have to convince him to do a blog post about them.  They really are that good. (Why didn't I take a picture...WHY??)

So in the first gift bag was a romantic movie to watch together...The Time Traveler's Wife.  I am a huge Rachel McAdams fan, but I have never watched this all the way through and have always wanted to.  Brandon has not seen it at all.  I also got him one of those Twizzlers ropes.  You know...to snack on while we watch the sappy movie.

Also included in that gift bag was the rest of the snacks.  You know, it just would not be an official holiday without getting Brandon his favorite jerky in the whole universe.

In the 2nd gift bag, I had two red T-shirts...one for him, one for me, and 2 bleach pens.  We are going to decorate these shirts with the bleach pens... Then we will probably take pictures of us wearing our designed creations. :-)  I guarantee a post on that later, when we get around to doing that.

In the 3rd gift bag, I had a couple of miscellaneous items....A "Dating Bank"/cute piggy bank with hearts on it.  Whenever we get ideas for dates, we will put them in this piggy bank, and draw one out randomly if we can't think of anything to do.  Next, I threw in some Barbie pink nail polish (not for him, for me...) as a promise to attempt to be as girly as possible.  Lastly, I threw in Nivea Hibiscus body wash.  We have been searching ENDLESSLY for this product.  It may or may not be discontinued, but by some miracle, I ran across some.  This scent brings us back to our honeymoon days.  *Sigh* It smells so good.

In the last gift bag, i put our favorite flavors of ice cream.  BEN & JERRY'S!!! Pistachio Pistachio, and Peanut Butter Cup.  We are both suckers for ice cream but have not bought this kind since summer time.  I thought it would be fun to add this to our holiday gluttony.

So....a little bit about Valentine's Day.  The reason why we decided to extend it was because Valentine's Day ended up being on a Thursday, and we had both been working all day.  When I came home, Brandon was fast asleep, and did not wake up for a good three hours.  After I decorated his mirror, I was so tired myself.  So finally, he woke up and then I fell asleep.  I don't know at what point Brandon came back to bed, but all I know is we did not wake up until morning.  UGH.  So, our first Valentine's Day as a married couple was a complete flop thanks to total exhaustion.  I was very disappointed about that.  So we extended it and just filled the rest of our week with romance and appreciation.  Last night we had some friends over for a triple date.  We played a really fun game, and were laughing so hard we were almost crying.  We decided that the company was just what we needed to make our Valentine's festivities perfect.  It was a lot of fun.   It was kinda sad how tired we have been.  In fact, I have not seen Brandon so tired in one week almost our entire time we have been married.  I hope we are able to catch up on sleep and not have this tired feeling anymore.  Anyway, I am going to start getting ready for church, so talk to you guys later! xoxox

Ash Wednesday

Oh man.  You guys.... I have been so spoiled today.  Brandon definitely one-upped me for Ash Wednesday.  The minute I came home from work, I walked into our room....and GASPED!

Brandon had made the bed, and sprinkled the edges with tulip petals....He even made a little heart out of the petals too.  And lit a candle and burned some yummy oils so our room smelled lovely. *sigh* So romantic.

And he even made a cute little sign on the bed that says Happy Ash Wednesday. :-)

Then I went into our bathroom and just had to laugh....

Our tulips looked a little bit bare, but still very cute and beautiful....

By the way, while all this happened, Brandon was at a meeting at church, so he didn't get to see my reactions.  When he came home, I was so happy to see him.  To make matters even better, he brought me a hamburger.  He knows me so well.  How did he know I have been craving hamburgers lately?  Haha.  And he also made me a homemade Oreo vanilla milkshake.  That was just lovely.

Then, he did the dishes for me tonight.  Let me clarify, he often does the dishes if I am tired, but today I felt especially spoiled because #1, he looked absolutely handsome with that cute shirt that I love seeing him wear, and #2 he was being so helpful and not LETTING me do any of my usual daily chores that I find myself doing.  He was doing this with the intent of spoiling me...hehehe.  I feel so lucky to have this man in my life.

Oh....did I mention that he also got me all this amazing chocolate?  I am a chocolate FREAK.  I especially love the Intense Orange kind (in the middle).

Just a funny shot of our calendar....

So....needless to say, we have both had a very love-filled week, complete with being spoiled to death.  Oh, and tomorrow is Valentine's Day.  How nice.  Since we both work tomorrow, it will probably be very low-key.  But anyway, I feel so blessed to have this time with Brandon.  I just feel so positive and happy and wonderful, complete with warm fuzzies....and I have felt this way all week.  I have been smiling non-stop.  Random to say this right now... but I am SO tired at the moment.  I need to go to sleep.  I hope you have enjoyed our ridiculous amounts of being lovey dovey.  :-) Talk to you soon. xoxox

Brandon Tuesday

Today is all about Brandon J. Son.  Amazingly gorgeous at all times and absolutely perfect for me!

Today is a special holiday for Brandon and me.  Since on the calendar, tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, we decided it is only fair that today is Brandon Tuesday.  So today, I just focused on trying to spoil Brandon and shower him with all the love I could possibly give him.  This morning, I was not able to do anything special since I had work, but when I got home, I cooked him an omelet, cleaned our room and put fresh crisp sheets on the bed and cleaned up the bathroom a little bit.  Then I decided to make some effort on my looks (to Brandon's favorite specifications).  I washed my hair with my yummiest shampoo and then dressed up in a pretty white dress that Brandon bought me a while back.  I also did my makeup how he likes it, which is just a simple clean look with an emphasis on the eyes.

My makeup...kept it very simple.  Notice the Hello Kitty earrings....

Brandon stopped playing his video game right when he saw me come out of the bathroom and took some photos of me.  :-)  Then we decided to go to the store to find a new board game to play, since we have been meaning to expand our collection.  We decided on Jenga.  We also went to Costco and picked up some pretzel rolls, Honey Bunches cereal, and Kirkland Signature vanilla ice cream.  Those were all things that Brandon felt like eating.  It was a lot of fun to come home and play Jenga and eat junk food.  We really loved it.  Tonight, I am planning on giving him a super nice and long massage with essential oils that my mom mixed up for us.  I know Valentines Day is in two days, but I just can't help but celebrate the love I have for Brandon any chance I can get.  He is such a blessing to me.  I am so glad that God sent Brandon into my life.  No one could ever replace him.  He is 100% original, super smart, wonderful, and easy to get along with.  Not to mention extremely kind and loving.  Ok, I am sure that is enough sap for tonight. xoxox

It's Lunar New Year!

I know it is a little bit late to be posting these, but I am just going to post some photos that have been sitting on my camera all the way back from my last Utah trip.  Also, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!  Today I wore a traditional hanbok to church.  This morning it was really fun to experience the Korean tradition of bowing to Brandon's mom and grandma. :-)

Here is a picture of me wearing my Korean hanbok.  I got a LOT of compliments on it at church.  I just love traditional clothes and am not afraid to wear them to show my love for my new family and culture.

A full shot of the dress.  Brandon really didn't want me to post this picture, since he wasn't in a photo mood when we took it (which is why he is cropped out hehe).  Notice he IS wearing a matching pink tie, though.  So cool.  He really looked handsome too. :-)  I found out that I was wearing the hairstyle of unmarried women (oops, LOL), which is just a braid with a pretty thick ribbon tied at the bottom.  The "married woman hairstyles" were very hard, though.  Haha.

Aaaannnnd some pictures from my Utah trip.....

Elsie with her panda doll that Brandon gave her...
She has such pretty blue eyes!

And yet another cute panda picture with my sister, Kaelyn.

Every time I visit home in Utah, my mom makes up the prettiest bedding for me.  Yes, I brought my teddy bear stuffed animal that Brandon gave me since he wasn't able to come with me on the trip. :-)

She also left a bunch of yummy/unhealthy snacks for me.  So nice!!

 More adorable Elsie!

I think I am baby hungry... haha.

My sister Sarah and her boyfriend, Peter.  Also, little Rachel on the right.  It was so fun to visit.

Last, but not least, here are my Valentine's Day tulips from Brandon.  So glad we went with pink.  They really brighten up the room.

Alright, well, I am off to bed.  Just wanted to share all this with you.  This weekend went by way too fast. xoxox

Good and Bad News

Today was a good day.  Brandon and I went on a date.  We went to the mall and bought a couple new outfits, and then ate some burritos.  After that, we went grocery shopping and Brandon got me some LOVELY tulips for Valentine's Day.  :-) How romantic!! I promise to post a picture.

In other news... we had to get rid of the new cat.  She was not potty trained at all.  She preferred carpet and towels over kitty litter, so it really would not work out, her being a full-grown cat and everything.

Also, sadly, (worst news EVER) my dad's warehouse was burned down while he was on a trip to South Africa.  No one was hurt, thankfully.  It is a really hard time at the moment for him as well as all of the employees involved.  Please, for anyone who has half a heart, please keep them in your prayers.  My heart is broken for my dad.  He is the last person in the world who deserves such misfortune. :-(((( Sorry to sound so depressing, but it really is a tragic situation. Read the article here. I only found out last night, so I was really freaking out.  You would be surprised at how positive my parents are about the whole thing.  I couldn't even bring myself to be okay with it.  I guess it doesn't do any good to freak out about things though.

In brighter news, my house is spick and span, since I finally got around to cleaning it.  I am going to go enjoy it now.  xoxox

A New Cat

Hello to all my friends.  I know this may seem a bit funny to post this, seeing as just yesterday I was talking about Nabi the cat and how he hates me and stuff.  But today, my mother-in-law surprised me and Brandon with a new cat.  We named her Luna.  She has semi-long black, shiny fur and big golden eyes.  She is so cute!  I didn't take a picture yet.  And yes, I am too lazy to do so.  Anyway, I hope she and Nabi get along.  They already have not had a very good start.  Luna is super playful and outgoing and not shy at all.  She has the shortest attention span I have ever seen.  She cuddles for exactly 3 seconds flat before moving on to something more new and exciting.  Also she is not afraid of anything and can take care of herself.  Nabi, on the other hand, is cautious, shy, cuddly, and very jealous indeed about sharing his home with a new cat.  He kept approaching her and hissing at her and stuff, and she didn't even look phased.  It was pretty funny.  But anyway, I am a bit tired now, but just wanted to keep you guys updated.  I am sure I will be posting some pictures soon. xoxox

Is This Really Winter?

Please forgive me for not blogging again.  It was one of those weekends where nothing seemed to be going right.  Including my intention of posting.  I know I promised a bunch of photos, so here is me, keeping my promise.  I must say...living in Washington is so different from Utah.  I mean, there is back-breaking cold in Utah and lots of snow and plenty of ice.  As for us.... in WASHINGTON... it is more like Ice Cream.  Hehe.  Be jealous.  Actually it's not like it's hot, but it is definitely not freezing.  In fact, I have been able to take walks comfortably with only a thin jacket or sweater.

I wasn't kidding about the ice cream.  Brandon made this... HOME MADE.  Gosh I am so lucky.  Maybe he will post a perfected ice cream recipe some day on his blog.  :-)  Also, YES those are panda and lion bowls, in case you were wondering.  I will take a real photo of them sometime.  They are our favorite bowls that we own.

Here is a path at my lovely Sunset Park.  I decided to walk to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for Brandon while he was sick, instead of driving when it is so close by.  I didn't regret it at all.  Just look at this lovely scenery.

Annnndd some fellow neighbors walking on the path too.  I hope they didn't think I was creepy for snapping a picture.

There was even a mini river on the side of the path.  It was so pretty! :-)

And isn't it unfair that this photo was snapped in what is supposed to be the dead of winter??

Here is part of our lovely neighborhood.  I love how it is taken care of so well.  It is definitely the kind of place you would want to raise kids.  Hardly anyone ever speeds on this road too.

As you can see, there is no shortage of green around here.  I LOVE this hedge.  It makes our neighborhood so cheerful.

An awkward angle of our house hehe... I wanted to show the cute snowman banner.  They change the banners seasonally in our neighborhood, so it always feels festive and up to par with the weather.

Here is a random tree I snapped on my work break, where I took a walk and explored some of the neighborhoods nearby.  The tree reminds me of a Dr. Seuss book. :-)

And more greenery on my afternoon walk.  So pretty and beautiful.  This picture does not do it any justice.

AAAANNND life would be boring if I didn't add some cat pictures too.  This is Nabi.  Maybe I have posted a picture of him before.  He is our cat.  Well.... sort of.  He belongs to Brandon's mom and her man, David.  Nabi and I have a love-hate relationship.  Sometimes he is the sweetest, and other times he is a total priss.  Half the time I wish I had my own cat since he is so stuck up sometimes.  Other times he is cuddly and sweet and knows when I had a bad day.  On days like that I love him.  But usually he is just a brat.  Haha.  Anyway, he is super cute, so I couldn't resist taking pictures of him.

Nabi in his little nest.... with the handsome hand of Brandon petting him.

I find this picture cute but funny at the same time.  He kinda has an annoyed expression on his face.

 He could be a model!

He always does this funny thing while you are petting him, where he sticks out his feet and stretches out his legs as far as they will go.  Hehe... it makes me laugh every time.

Well.... this was all sufficiently random, wasn't it?  I shall be going now.  Talk to you soon!  I will try not to be a stranger. xoxox
